Back of the book :
The house has soft, purple wisteria twining around the door. You step inside.
The hall is cool after the hot summer’s day. The welcome is kind, and always warm.
Yet something makes you suspect life here can’t be as perfect as it seems.
After all, the brightest smile can hide the darkest secret.
But wouldn’t you pay any price to have a glorious place like this ?
Welcome to Winterfold.
Martha Winter’s family is finally coming home ….
What I think :
So, here we are back at Winterfold for Part 3 of this fabulous tale.
This part is a lot darker than the last 2. It’s entitled : The Past and The Present.
As we know, at the end of the last part it was revealed what exactly had happened to Daisy and of course David died.
This bit of the story tells us about a bit about David’s past and how he grew up in London in the blitz. It also reveals more about his family. And Florence’s parentage is finally revealed.
Again, we find out from each character, in each of their chapters, how they are coping with the recent events and what is happening in their lives.
I did think this part was slightly slower than the other two, but it was by no means boring. There are a few surprise’s in there that stop and make you think.
The only complaint I have with this book is that its in parts, I would have really preferred a whole book to read in one go.
I cant wait for the last part of this book …
Roll on part 4 !!!!
Great review! Just started reading this myself, loving it so far. xx
