Happy 3rd Birthday …

Hello Lovely Book People …

Today is the blogs third birthday !! 

I can’t believe I have been part of the wonderful blogging community for three whole years ! 

I just want to say a huge thank you to all the lovely Authors (and publishers) that have trusted me to review their book babies over the last three years, and also to all the lovely bloggers that have encouraged me and have become my friends, I couldn’t have got this far without you all 🙂 

Here’s to the next three years (and many more hopefully !! 🙂 )

A Bit Quiet …

Hello lovely book people,

Just a quick ‘note’ to let you know why things have been a bit quiet on the blog of late. 

Firstly I’d like to say that I haven’t stopped reading and reviewing by any means, however I’m just having a lot of trouble finding actual time to read. 

I started a new job at the start of the year, changing jobs was supposed to make my life a lot easier. I dropped my hours from 30 to 21.5 so I could have a little bit of extra time at home, however the fates had different ideas ! My manager decided to leave which meant, as I am supervisor, I would have to pick up the slack and do many more hours … 

Whilst the money comes in real handy, needless to say my precious time with my family and my books hasn’t happened, I’m working many more hours than expected! Not to mention the fact that by the time I get home at night all I want to do is fall into bed, which means my books are being left unopened on the night stand. I used to read two or three books a week, now I’m lucky if  I get through one 😦

But there is light at the end of the tunnel, we are getting a new Manager very soon and hopefully things will slacken off at work and I’ll get those precious hours I crave. So please keep your fingers crossed for me. 🙂

At the moment I’m reading ‘Obsession’ by Amanda Robson which I’m reviewing as part of the blog tour, so please look out for that on Sunday 7th May.

Please don’t give up on me and the blog, I promise I will be back. Hopefully life won’t get in the way so much 🙂

I know it probably feels like an absolute age since the last time I posted a review, well it has been over three and a half months ! It was only supposed to be three weeks ! (Life seems to get in the way) But I promise I am coming back. 🙂 my next review will be posted on or very close to 17 November and the book review will be :

Hello Lovely Book people,

Hope you have all had a lovely summer, I’ve had a really good one  🙂  My son was home on leave and I also went to the seaside and just generally relaxed. (And read a couple of excellent books too ! )

The good news is that my blog/ reviewing break is almost over and I will be back blogging /reviewing very soon. (At the end of September)

So if there are any publishers out there needing a book reviewed, just send it my way, I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into all those fab new books.

Busy, Busy, Busy …..

Hello lovely book people ,

Im sorry to say that there won’t be a book review this week 😦

I have had a really busy week, what with work and family, (hence the title) and haven’t had time to pick a book up, let alone read it ! I’m hoping this week is going to be a lot quieter and there will be a shiny new book review for you to read next week 🙂

There are some really good books coming up this Thursday (28th July) that I’m really quite excited about, The new Paige Toon – All about the Hype is the one that I’ll be queuing up to get on Thursday morning 🙂

A week off ….

Hello lovely book people …..

Just a quick one to let you all know that there won’t be a book review this week, as I’m having a bit of a book slump 😦  Ive been having one for a couple of weeks but this week I haven’t actually been able to finish the book that I’ve been reading. Although, In my defence its not all due to my slump that I haven’t been able to finish said book, my lovely youngest son got engaged to his girlfriend at the weekend and things have been really hectic here as you can imagine, so not much reading has been going on  🙂 However, I’m hoping that things will be back to normal next week and there will be a lovely shiny new review for you all to read 🙂

So bear with me folks, I’m still reading ( very slowly ! ) and still reviewing 🙂

A Christmas Break ….

 

Hello lovely book people ….

Just a short note to let you all know that I’m going on a short Blogging break. Don’t worry though, It’ll only be a short one and I’ll be back in the New Year, all shiny and new and ready to go !!

I’ll still be reading on my break, so when I’m back they’ll be some reviews on the fab Christmas books that are out at the moment and of course my Top Ten books of 2015.

Weekly Round-Up. 06/09/15.

Hello lovely book people and welcome to my Weekly Round-Up 🙂

I haven’t done a round-up in a while, what with being at work now and not really having much time to breathe let alone read and review, however I have 2 weeks off work so here for one week only is my weekly Round-Up 🙂 🙂

I’ve already had a week away in Devon, which was fabulous, as you will probably know Devon is my happy place and I love it there 🙂 whilst I’m away I don’t review any books, I don’t like to feel any pressure while I’m on holiday, I just want read and read, however this year I did buy and read a book that I feel needs a mention, and that is ‘Asking for it’ by Louise O’Neill. From the moment I started reading it I felt slightly uneasy and as I continued to read that feeling got stronger. And if I’m honest, I did put the book down a couple of times, however I could’nt help going back to it as its quite compulsive reading. It’s a book with subject matter that, whilst quite bad, could quite easily happen to you and me, which is quite a scary thought. And unusually I’m still thinking about this book today, at least 3 days after I finished reading it. This book is very powerful and hopefully it will help to bring awareness so more rape victims are believed and helped, because sadly they are not and told they were ‘asking for it’ as the books title suggests. Its happening more and more.
So please go out and buy this book today, you wont regret it 🙂

Anyway lovely people, its time for me to go and paint the living room walls, as the second week of my holiday is dedicated to decorating the living room as we are getting fabulous new sofa’s next Saturday 🙂
