Back of the book :

He had never heard himself scream before. It was terrifying.

Alone, trapped in the darkness and with no way out, Bart Campbell knows that his chances of being found alive are slim.

Drugged and kidnapped, the realisation soon dawns that he’s been locked inside a shipping container far from his Edinburgh home. But what Bart doesn’t yet know is that he’s now heading for France where his unspeakable fate is already sealed…

DCI Ava Turner and DI Luc Callanach are working on separate cases that soon collide as it becomes clear that the men and women being shipped to France are being traded for women trafficked into Scotland.

With so many lives at stake, they face an impossible task – but there’s no option of failure when Bart and so many others will soon be dead…

What I think :

Its always a huge pleasure to to be asked to be on a Helen fields blog tour.

I really love going back to find out what DCI Ava Turner and DI Luc Callanach are up to.

So here we are, on book Six and Luc is back in France and loving it. He hasn’t realized how much he’s missed everything and his old partner Jean Luc. He’s helping Interpol with the case of a young male who’s body has been hollowed out, with no organs its just a husk. Ava is in Edinburgh working on a case that seems to been very similar …

Soon the cases will collide, will Ava and Luc be able to put their personal feelings aside to work together once more and solve these cases… ?

As I said above, I really love reading about these two, they are such brilliantly written characters.  With such hard hitting subject matter, such as illegal organ harvesting and people smuggling these books really are not for any one with a nervous disposition !!

There are, as always, plenty of twists and turns and gasp out loud moments, to keep you on the edge of your seat. I really didn’t want to put it down ! I can’t wait till the next one in the series.

I really enjoyed this book and give it 9/10 (5 stars )
