Back of the book :

Every Wednesday, like clockwork, the terror returns.

It seems like an ordinary Wednesday, until the phone rings. A mysterious caller with a chilling threat. Journalist Alice Henderson hangs up, ready to dismiss it as a hoax against the newspaper. But the next Wednesday, the stalker makes another move—and it becomes clear that this is all about Alice.

Someone wants her to suffer, but for what? Her articles have made her a popular local champion—could it be her past rather than her work that’s put her life in danger? Alice is determined not to give in to fear, but with the police investigation at a dead end, her boyfriend insists on hiring private investigator Matthew Hill.

With every passing Wednesday the warnings escalate, until it’s not only Alice but also her family in the stalker’s sights. As her tormentor closes in, can Alice uncover what she’s being punished for before the terrifying threats become an unthinkable reality?

What I think :

Alice Henderson is a journalist.

She also has a stalker.

Every Wednesday, without fail, he phones her and tell her of all the awful, nasty things that he is going to do to her. And now he’s after her family too.

Alice hates Wednesdays.

But why ?

Why is he singling her out ?

What has she done to make someone want to do these things to her ? She’s popular at the newspaper office, she’s not upset anyone. So why ?

Her boyfriend Tom decides enough is enough, so he hires Matthew the Private Investigator to find out the truth. But what Matthew finds out is more about what happened to Alice in the past than the present …

I love a crime thriller, and I really enjoyed this one. Each chapter is dedicated to a character. I also like the way that it weaves back and forth from past to present, so we really know whats going. We even have a chapter or two with ‘Him’

This book kept me on he edge of my seat, right from the every beginning I needed to keep reading to find out what is going on.

With plenty of twists and turns and being quite dark in places, it shapes up to one hell of a roller-coaster ride.

This is the first novel I’ve read from this author, but I’m sure it wont be the last.

I give this dark chiller 8/10 (5 stars )

5 gold stars
