Back of the book :
PHOEBE is caught between a rock and a hard place. Settle down and get married or return to the French Alps to pursue her passion ?
ELIZA is in love with someone who is no longer hers. In fact, he probably never was .. And her dream of becoming a successful musician seems to be vanishing before her eyes.
ROSE is out of a job and out of a boyfriend. To make matters worse, she’s been forced to move back in with her mother.
But these very different girls have one thing in common. ANGUS. The one they fell in love with …
What I Think :
Triplets, Rose, Phoebe and Eliza all secretly fell in love with Angus when he moved in next door ten years ago. Middle twin Phoebe staked her claim and all these years later they’re getting married. However she doesn’t want to move to Manchester, she’d much rather move to back to France to rock climb and work the cable cars as she did in her gap year before she went to Uni to study as a translator. Is she really ready to get married ?
Rose didn’t hang round either, she went to London to pursue a career in nursing, just like her mother did. However whilst she enjoys her job, her love life isn’t too good, her boyfriend is still married and it doesn’t look like there is a divorce on the horizon.
So that just leaves Eliza, who stayed at home. She’s always loved music, so she became a singer/busker in a pub. She’s also the one that really ‘fell in love with the one she shouldn’t have fallen in love with’ and now he’s getting married there doesn’t seem to be any hope at all.
And lastly what about handsome Angus ? The-boy-next-door. He’s always had really good relationships with Rose and Eliza, is it just friendship or something else … ?
Are the these the lives that the girls are meant to be living or should they a make the change for something else ?
This is another wonderfuly written book from the pen of Paige Toon. Its full of lovely characters that you can really relate to. It tells a lovely tale of family, relationships and the highs and lows of life. I don’t think I have a favourite triplet as they are all equally as good in as each other in their own ways. With so many heartfelt moments, which, lets face it, is what Paige does best, it really is a book you can settle down with after a hard day at work.
I always really look forward to a new Paige Toon book, and this time I was lucky enough to win a copy ! It had me gripped from the first page to very last.
There are lots of funny moments and a few sad moments too, which had me reaching for the tissues a couple of times, I must admit ! And not forgetting ‘That bit – The Twist’ OMG ! I wasn’t expecting that !!
I really enjoyed this book and it just may have found its way to the top of my top ten of Paige Toon books, which is a tall order as I adore all the ‘Johnny’ books.
I would heartily recommend this book to all of my friends. Such an excellent choice to read by the pool (or anywhere else for that matter ! )
I really loved this fabulous book and give it a very well earned 10/10.
