A Winterfold Christmas – Harriet Evans.

A winterfold xmas

Back of the book :

When chef Joe Thorne rashly promises to cook Christmas dinner for his girlfriend Cat’s family, little does he know what he’s letting his self in for …

At Winterfold, their beautiful rambling house in the heart of the english countryside, things have always been done a certain way and that Martha Winter, matriarch of the clan, knows what she wants. Still reeling from her husband’s death and the loss of her perfect family, is Martha ready to enjoy Christmas ?

Will the Winter family be able to come together one more time ?

What I think :

I did a little jump for joy when this small gem of a book popped through my letterbox a couple of weeks ago. I was overjoyed that Harriet had written a Christmas follow-on from “A Place For Us”.

It was really lovely going back to Winterfold and seeing the Winter family at Christmas. All the main characters from the original book where there, apart from David, of course who sadly passed away at the end of the last book.

It carries on about a year after the last one, It is a beautiful little story of how in their own ways, each of the the family members are moving on after the events in “A Place For Us”.

Each character has a chapter of their own with some lovely little recipes mixed in for an extra Christmassy feel.

I only have one complaint, and that was that this book was far, far too short ! It only took me an afternoon to devour this lovely little book.

I adored this book, and give it a very festive 10/10.

A very big thank you to Harriet Evans who sent me a copy of the book.
