A Place for Us – pt 2 – Harriet Evans.

Back of the book :

The house has soft, purple wisteria hanging around the door. You step inside.

The hall is cool after the hot summers day. The welcome is kind, and always warm.

Yet something makes you suspect life here can’t be as perfect as it seems.

After all, the brightest smile can hide the darkest secret.

But wouldn’t you pay any price to have a glorious place like this ?

Welcome to Winterfold.

Martha Winters family is finally coming home ….

What I think :

We’re back at Winterfold for part 2 of the story.

This part covers the the drinks party and the lunch the next day.

Cat has returned from France with her small child, Luke that nobody knows about.

Florence is already there because as we already know in pt 1 she resigns from her job at the Uni in London, after her love affair goes wrong.

But just where is Daisy ?

I’m really loving this book, and after I’ve read each part I’m left wanting more.

The characters still have their own chapters, and its still going back and forth from past to present. I like this a lot because giving them a past seems to make the characters more believable.

There are loads more secrets and lies revealed in this part and we also finally find out what exactly happened to Daisy.

I was slightly concerned that because the book is in parts and it was quite a while ago that I read part 1, that I would forget who everybody was, but as soon as  I started reading they all were there, present and correct, feeling very fresh in my mind.

I felt quite sad when this part ended, but cant wait to see what happens next ! Roll on part 3 !

A very big Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers Headline review for the Digital copy to read and review.
