Back of the book :
From shopping list to A-list !
Becky Brandon ( nee Bloomwood) is in Hollywood !
It’s as if all her life has been leading to this moment. She’s hanging out with the stars … or at least she will be, when she finally gets to meet movie star Sage Seymour, whom her husband Luke is now Managing.
There’s so much to see and do ! And getting Minnie through the hurdles for her A-list Hollywood pre-school will require some … Er … Help.
Becky sets her heart on a new career – She’s going to be a celebrity stylist. Red carpet here she comes ! But Becky soon finds it’s tough in Tinsletown. Luckily her best friend Suze comes over to keep her company, and together they embark on the Hollywood trail. But somehow …. things arent quite working out as they’d hoped.
Then Becky’s big chance comes, and its an opportunity that money can’t buy. But will it cost her too much ?
What I think :
Firstly I would like to say a very BIG Thank you to Majama at Transworld books for sending me the copy of the book to read and review.
Becky Bloomwood (now Brandon) is back !!
And she’s off to Hollywood with her husband Luke and daughter Minnie.
She’s been meeting all kinds of new people, But not it seems, her husbands new client, Sage Seymour. So, Becky decides that she’s going to be a stylist to the stars, then maybe she’ll get to meet Sage and be her stylist. However, when Becky gets a job styling Lois Kellerton, Sage’s rival, it causes all sorts of problems. But, not to worry because her best friend Suze comes for a visit with her children and husband Tarkie so she’ll be on hand to help her, wont she ?
Wow ! I loved this book !
Becky is back, bigger and bolder than ever. Right from the first page this book grabs you and sucks you in. This is the 7th book in the ‘Shopaholic’ series, but you don’t need to have read the other 6, (however you are missing a treat if you havent ! ) as this book is a brilliant stand alone. There is nothing stale about this book (it being the 7th book) all the wonderful characters are present in this wonderful romp, such as Becky’s patient but long suffering husband Luke, their much loved but spoilt daughter Minnie and of course not forgetting Becky’s partner in crime Suze and her loveable posh husband Tarquin. And last but not least Danny Kovitz – Fashion Designer.
Becky is still having her flights of fantasy and dreaming big, and the ever present schemes that always seem to go wrong, with hilarious results. However throughout this wonderful read there is a serious side that addresses friendships and families.
From the wonderfully funny emails that are scattered though out the book to the glimpses of fashion, this is another triumph from the Queen of ‘Chicklit’.
I cant wait for the next ‘Shopaholic’ book, if for nothing else but to clear up all those loose ends !
I am such a big fan of Sophie’s books and I’ve probably read them all twice or maybe more, and this latest one, is up there with the rest of them. Another really fabulous ‘Becky Bloomwood’ book All I can say is you need to read this book,
I give this very hilariously wonderful book 10/10 🙂
