From reluctant bridesmaid to accidental mother.
Tamsyn Thorn has not been back to her home town for five long years.
But now her brother, Ruan, is about to get married and she has no excuses left.
Her plans to arrive in Cornwall looking chic and successful are dashed when a huge storm turns her from fashion goddess to a drowned rat. Worse, she ends up insulting the local hunky vicar – and then finds a tiny baby abandoned in his churchyard.
What I think :
Tamsyn comes back to the village she grew up in after five years. She’s not spoken to her brother for that long after the death of her best friend, and now she’s got to be a bridesmaid at his wedding !
she’s visiting the graveyard when there is a huge storm, which she gets caught in. Its whilst she’s there that she meets a very hunky vicar and finds an abandoned baby.
I love Scarlett’s Christmas novels, so I was really pleased when I discovered that she was bringing out a summer one too.
The main character Tamsyn thinks she’s happy with the life she’s got. She seems to be jogging along quite nicely, but then when she arrives back in the village she grew up in a few things happen to her to make her evaluate her life.
There are some lovely moments as well as sad, with some difficult subjects covered. With a wealth of wonderful characters, such as Catriona the Verger and the stroppy teenager Kirsten. There are many twists and turns, although I did guess the identity of the abandoned baby’s mother quite early on.
This is a lovely story that you don’t want to stop reading and you don’t want to end.
This is a excellent beach read that i will be recommending it to my friends.
